Who are we?
The Friends of the Grange as an organization is a rebirth of the idea that built this park to begin with. Its purpose is to preserve the legacy and educate the public on the history of Islip town and especially that history of the 19th Century where Islip came into its own and to raise funds for the improvement of and the repair and restoration of the structures at the Grange. This is envisioned to be an effort that will include the history groups and schools as well as the businesses of the area to promote learning and commerce in a public – private partnership to benefit the area and the town.
I leave comparisons to history, claiming only that I have acted in every instance from a conscientious desire to do what was right, constitutional, within the law, and for the very best interests of the whole people. Failures have been errors of judgment, not of intent. – Ulysses S. Grant
